Terms of Service
Last updated: March 10, 2026
These terms cover your use of theadaguy.dev and the Auditor platform. I've written them in plain language — no unnecessary legal jargon. If something isn't clear, ask me directly.
What this service is
The Ada Guy provides accessibility scanning tools, consulting services, and educational resources related to ADA compliance, WCAG guidelines, web privacy, and related topics.
The free scan tool and the Auditor platform run automated checks against publicly accessible URLs using industry-standard tooling (axe-core). Results represent a technical snapshot of detected issues at the time of the scan.
Important limitation
Scan results and reports generated by this service identify common WCAG issues. They do not constitute legal certification of ADA compliance, legal advice, or a guarantee that your site is free from accessibility barriers or legal risk. If you need a legal opinion, consult a qualified attorney.
Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using theadaguy.dev, the Auditor platform, or any related service, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you're using these services on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these terms.
If you don't agree with any part of these terms, do not use the service.
Permitted use
You may use this service to:
- Scan websites and URLs that you own or have explicit permission to test
- View and export accessibility reports for your own use or for clients
- Use the Auditor platform to monitor and manage accessibility work for your organization
- Share and reference reports as part of legitimate compliance or remediation efforts
You may not:
- Scan URLs you do not own or have authorization to test
- Use the service to scrape, crawl, or harvest data in bulk beyond its intended purpose
- Resell or sublicense access to the Auditor platform without a written agreement
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, bypass, or interfere with any part of the service
- Use the service to generate content intended to mislead, misrepresent compliance, or harm others
- Submit unlawful, abusive, or malicious content through any form on this site
Accounts
If you create an Auditor platform account, you're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account.
Notify me immediately at hello@theadaguy.dev if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
I reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or are used for abusive, illegal, or harmful purposes.
Payments and subscriptions
Paid plans are billed on the schedule agreed at the time of sign-up. Prices are stated in USD and may change with advance notice.
Payments are processed by third-party providers. I don't store payment card information. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis — if you have a billing concern, email me and I'll work through it with you directly.
Managed service engagements (Ongoing Monitoring, project work) are governed by the specific agreement made at the time of engagement, which may supplement or supersede parts of these terms.
Intellectual property
All content on this site — including text, design, code, graphics, and the Auditor tooling — is the property of The Ada Guy unless otherwise noted. You may not reproduce or redistribute it without written permission.
Reports and scan artifacts you generate through the service belong to you. You're free to use them for your own compliance documentation and client work.
Scan results, reports, and the underlying tooling are provided as-is. I make no claim to any intellectual property rights in the URLs or websites you scan.
Disclaimers and limitations
No warranty
The service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. I don't warrant that scans will be error-free, complete, or accurate, or that the service will be uninterrupted. Automated tools can miss issues and report false positives — use results as a starting point, not a final answer.
No legal advice
Nothing on this site constitutes legal advice. Accessibility consulting and scan reports are technical guidance only. ADA compliance determinations involve legal and factual judgments that require a qualified attorney.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Ada Guy is not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service — including any regulatory action, legal claims, or business losses related to accessibility compliance decisions made based on scan results.
Third-party links
This site may link to external websites for reference or resources. Those sites have their own terms and privacy policies. I'm not responsible for their content, practices, or availability.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising from use of the service will be resolved through good-faith discussion first. If that fails, disputes are subject to the jurisdiction agreed upon at that time.
Changes to these terms
I may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects when changes were last made. Material changes that affect the Auditor platform will be communicated by email to registered users.
Continued use of the service after updated terms are posted means you accept the changes.
